Welcome to the Baby Gator Pod<\/strong><\/p>

The babies are hatching, and there\u2019s no better place to watch them grow than in our Baby Gator Pod. These tiny alligators may be small, but they are ready for action right out of the shell. Visitors can watch as they start practicing their posturing, sharpening their reflexes, and learning the early skills that will help them thrive. While you\u2019re there, check out some of their names on the wall and see if you can guess which one is called \u201cAlli\u201d!<\/p>

Newly hatched alligators measure about 6 to 8 inches long, roughly the size of a pencil, and they immediately form small groups called pods. These pods provide some safety in numbers as the young alligators start their journey in the wild. In their natural habitats, life is not easy for hatchlings\u2014approximately 80 percent fall victim to predators such as birds, raccoons, bobcats, otters, snakes, large bass, and even larger alligators.<\/p>

At Gatorama, the Baby Gator Pod gives visitors a unique opportunity to observe these tiny predators in a safe environment as they grow and develop. From their first tentative movements to their playful interactions with siblings, every moment is a chance to learn about the life of alligators and the challenges they face in the wild.
